Reaching the hidden cave and waterfall normally requires swimming through several pools and passing through a narrow opening in the rocks. Access depends on water levels, weather conditions and the swimming ability of each guest. The cave and waterfall cannot be guaranteed when conditions are unsafe.

Swimming is optional. Guests who do not wish to swim can relax near the accessible pool area, enjoy the scenery and wait for the group before beginning the return hike.

There are no lifeguards inside Wadi Shab. Every participant must follow the guide’s instructions, remain aware of changing conditions and avoid entering water beyond their swimming ability.

Return Hike and Coastal Journey

After enjoying the pools, you will return along the same hiking trail towards the entrance of Wadi Shab. The return walk generally takes another 45 to 60 minutes.

Bimmah Sinkhole provides a more relaxed conclusion to the day after the active Wadi Shab hike. Its unusual colour and geological formation make it one of the most photographed natural attractions along Oman’s eastern coast.

The tour is suitable for active travellers aged eight years and above. Participants should be comfortable walking on uneven ground for approximately two hours in total. Guests who want to reach the cave and waterfall should also be confident swimmers.
